The Battery We've All Been Waiting For!

Fireproof.

Non-toxic.

Ceramic semiconductor.

No lithium.

No cobalt.

No rare-earth materials.

Welcome to Sustainable Energy Inc!

  • We are developing fireproof, nontoxic, ceramic semiconductor batteries with no lithium, cobalt or rare earth materials, so our batteries will be safer, and supply chain bottlenecks are unlikely.
  • We expect to reach between 1,100 and 2,200 Watt-hours per kilogram (Wh/kg), with very long cycle life and low cost, in less than a month, based on our new-physics cathode and exciting new anode design.
  • Our target for mass production is 4,000 Wh/kg. Most of today’s lithium batteries deliver only 120 to 300 Wh/kg; the best target 400 Wh/kg.

Breakthrough Battery Benefits

Who are the Customers?

  1. Most heavy electric trucks with a Gross Vehicle Rating of 80,000 pounds can only go one or two hundred miles on a charge with lithium batteries, without cutting into their payloads to stay under the GVW ceiling. Our batteries will weigh a tenth as much, so they could allow heavier payloads than with a diesel engine!
  2. Electric bicycles, motorcycles, cars, trucks, buses, ships, and even aircraft will go hundreds of miles on a charge, at a lower purchase price than with fossil fuel engines.
  3. Electricity from solar and wind energy systems can be stored cheaply, and then used whenever it's needed.
  4. Off-road equipment can become battery-electric too. A tractor could work all day on one charge!
  5. Resilience: store electricity for disasters and blackouts.

We use Globally Abundant Materials

Most of our ceramic grade (95% pure) commodity raw materials are abundant worldwide and cost less than $2 per kilogram.  An NREL review found that less-pure materials yield better PV results in labs world-wide. We apply this concept to batteries, with amazing results!
Our first customers will be a maker of conversion kits for diesel trucks, Class 1 to 8, and buses, Class A to D., and their customers switching to battery electric power to comply with California Air Resources Board (CARB) emission control rules.
Then we will expand to new transportation equipment manufacturers, renewable energy system installers, EV charging system installers, distributors, CCAs and utilities.

Who are the End Users?

The end users are everyone who needs convenient, renewable electricity, for anything from skateboards to ships, hand tools to the electricity grid.

We'll Mass-Produce the Batteries

We'll adapt ceramic tile factories that make 50 million square feet of tiles per year to making enough of our 5cm x 7cm x 2 mm mini-tile electrodes to start at 300 million kilowatt-hours (300 GWh)/year, and reach 650 GWh/year within 3 years from commissioning. We'll also put an assembly plant next to the fab plant. Then we'll order many more of these factories as demand grows exponentially.
We look forward to exploring how our technologies can advance your goals and objectives, for your organization and for the world.
